This "mirror" version of an official U.S. Navy website is part of HyperWar's ongoing project of ensuring widespread and reliable public access to materials concerning American history. It duplicates the entire content of the "Online Library of Selected Images", the internet-based photographic index of the Naval History and Heritage Command (formerly known as the Naval Historical Center).
In order to differentiate it from the "official" website, certain minor informational and decorative elements have been added or changed. In addition, a small number of hyperlinks may not work properly.

This mirror website is maintained entirely with private means and has no official association with the U.S. Navy or any other component of the United States Government.
