This page provides links to the Picture Data sheets for every stereoscopic image posted on the Online Library. These pictures, mounted in pairs on cards about seven inches wide and three inches high, provide a three-dimensional effect when seen through a stereograph viewer. They were a popular means of education and entertainment during the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.
At this time the Online Library's stereo pictures mainly date from the 1860s to the early 1900s, with a few later images. The larger "online stereo pair image" of each item has been sized to permit use of prints in a stereograph viewer. Though the posted digital image quality will not be as good as that of higher-resolution photographic reproductions, it should still be sufficient to demonstrate the three-dimensional effect present in most of them.
