In 1951, the trans-Pacific personnel transportation became more of a two-way operation as a routine program was put into place to send home veterans after they had spent a term in the war zone. Later in the year, when it was clear that the conflict had stabilized and was unlikely to escalate into a broader Asian or World war, dependents were once again permitted to accompany military and naval personnel stationed in Japan.
This page features images of the transportation of personnel, equipment and supplies to and from the Korean war zone in 1951.
