Silver urn presented to Captain Isaac Hull, USN,
By the citizens of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in recognition
of his 19 August 1812 victory over HMS Guerriere while
in command of USS Constitution. The urn was made by Philadelphia
silversmiths Thomas Fletcher and Sidney Gardiner, and engraved
by W. Hooker.
This view shows the urn's obverse side, with presentation inscription.
The urn was loaned to the Navy in 1911 by Dr. Isaac Hull Platt.
In 1982 it was transferred to the USS Constitution Museum,
Boston, Massachusetts.
