Removing equipment from ex-USS Galveston (CLG-3)
"Left to right: IC2 Forrest and ET1 Askew disconnecting
a surface search radar repeater from the ex-USS Galveston,
CLG-3. This repeater, along with others will be tied to an AN/SPS
T3 radar simulator and a small computer to supply the variables
like range, bearing and speed. These equipments when used together
will produce a radar picture equal to the real thing." The
items removed from the ship were to be installed at the Naval
Amphibious School's Surface Warfare Officer School simulator.
