Removing equipment from ex-USS Galveston (CLG-3)

"Manual labor was the key to the removal of most of the ex-Galveston's equipment. ENFN Campbell is removing sound powered telephone jack boxes from the ex CLG-3. The larger pieces of equipment like radar repeaters were removed with the assistance of DATC." This equipment was to be installed at the Naval Amphibious School's Surface Warfare Officer School simulator. (quoted portion is taken from the original caption).
Photographed by PH1 Tom Ryals, of the Pacific Fleet Amphibious Force Public Affairs Office, circa 1973-1975.
