Anna Belle (American Motor Boat, 1898).
Served as USS Anna Belle (SP-1206) in 1917-1918

Anna Belle, a 37.9-foot motor boat built in 1898 for civilian use, was based at Chincoteague, Virginia. She was chartered by the Navy in June 1917 and placed in commission in August of that year as USS Anna Belle (SP-1206). After being employed on section patrol duties in the vicinity of Norfolk and Hampton Roads, Virginia, she was decommissioned and returned to her owner in December 1918.

This page features the only view we have concerning the motor boat Anna Belle, which was USS Anna Belle (SP-1206) in 1917-1918.

Anna Belle
(American Motor Boat, 1898)

Underway, probably prior to her World War I Naval service.
This craft was chartered by the Navy on 15 June 1917 and placed in commission as USS Anna Belle (SP-1206) on 16 August 1917. She was returned to her owner on 20 December 1918.
