Corinthia (American Motor Boat, 1909).
Served as USS Corinthia (SP-938) in 1917-1918.
Corinthia, an 85-foot steel-hulled motor pleasure boat,
was built in 1909 by Charles Seabury & Company of Morris Heights,
New York. Leased by the Navy for World War I service, she was
placed in commission as USS Corinthia (SP-938) in May 1917.
For the rest of World War I the Eighth Naval District used her
for patrol service along the coasts of Louisiana and Texas. She
was returned to her owner in December 1918.
This page features the only views we have concerning the
motor boat Corinthia, which was USS Corinthia (SP-938)
in 1917-1918.

Leased by the Navy for wartime service, this pleasure craft served
as USS Corinthia (SP-938) between May 1917 and December
1918.

Photographed by H.J. Harvey, of New Orleans, Louisiana, prior
to World War I.
This pleasure craft was leased by the Navy for World War I service
and placed in commission on 14 May 1917 as USS Corinthia
(SP-938). She was returned to her owner on 7 December 1918.
