Dreadnought (American Motor Boat).
Served as USS Dreadnought (SP-584) and USS SP-584 in 1917-1919

Dreadnought, a 32-foot motor pleasure boat of the fast (30 miles per hour) open "runabout" type, was built by R. Bigelow of Monument Beach, Massachusetts, probably in 1916-1917. In May 1917 she was acquired by the Navy from Eldon B. Keith of Brockton, Massachusetts, and commissioned in following October as USS Dreadnought (SP-584). She was reported to have been transferred to the Fifth Naval District for service, and in 1918 her name was changed to SP-584. The boat was returned to her owner in June 1919.

This page features the only view we have concerning the motor boat Dreadnought, which was USS Dreadnought (SP-584) and USS SP-584 in 1917-1919.
