Viking, a 42-foot motor workboat, was built by the Navy in 1915 but apparently sold soon afterwards. Named Caesar and Viking while under civilian ownership, she was employed at Norfolk, Virginia. The Navy reacquired the boat in September 1918, placing her in service as Viking (ID # 3314). Following relatively brief use in the vicinity of Norfolk, she was stricken from the Navy list in February 1919. Authorized for disposal "as junk", she was sold almost immediately after striking.
This page features our only views of the motor boat Viking, which served in the Navy as Viking (ID # 3314) in 1918-1919.
