Rapido (Auxiliary Cruiser, 1898)

Rapido, a large auxiliary cruiser, was built in 1889 as a passenger liner. Purchased by Spain for Spanish-American War service, she was a unit of Admiral Camara's abortive Philippines relief expedition in June-July 1898. Returned to commercial service after 1898, she became the Russian auxiliary cruiser Terek during the Russo-Japanese War. She was scrapped in 1907.

This page features an 1898 view of Rapido.
