USAT Marica (Transport, 1919)
Served as USS Marica (ID # 4031) in 1919.
Later became S.S. Lillian Luckenbach
In September 1919, following her relatively short U.S. Navy service, USS Marica (ID # 4031) was turned over to the War Department for employment as a U.S. Army Transport. However, she was soon returned to her owners, the Luckenbach Steamship Company, who reconverted her to a freighter. Under the name Lillian Luckenbach, the ship operated commercially until sunk in a collision on 27 March 1943.
This page features all the views we have concerning the
U.S. Army Transport Marica, which was previously USS Marica (ID # 4031) and later became the civilian freighter Lillian Luckenbach.
