USS Measure, a 625-ton Admirable class minesweeper built at Loraine, Ohio, was commissioned in early May 1944. She left the Great Lakes later in that month via the St. Lawrence River and soon began training and towing duty while based at Little Creek, Virginia. In early 1945 the minesweeper went to the West Coast and, beginning in late March, was stationed at Kodiak, Alaska. Leased to the Soviet Union in May 1945, Measure was renamed T-273. She was formally purchased in 1956 and remained in Soviet Navy service until 1963.
