USS SC-1297, a 95-ton 110-foot submarine chaser, was built at Ipswich, Massachusetts, and was commissioned in October 1943. SC-1297 was transferred to the Coast Guard in October 1945 and served as USCGC Air Swallow (WAVR-469) until sold in January 1948.
