Korean War CIA FOIA ReleaseTable of ContentsShadowed by WWII before it and the Vietnam war afterwards, the Korean War is one of the most frequently forgotten about conflicts of the 20th Century. The CIA recently released over 1,000 documents covering daily and weekly intelligence estimates as the war progressed. This collection includes more than 1,000 documents, consisting of national estimates, intelligence memos and daily updates concerning developments on the Korean Peninsula during the Korean War. It begins several years before war broke out in 1950, and ends shortly after the war ended in 1953. These documents were released by the CIA under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) in 2010. They have been OCRed to aid researchers with easy searching. Although many of the documents were blurry, dirty or creased, most individual words are intact, so a search for specific terms (such as "Seoul" or "Pusan") should help you find any relevant documents without much difficulty.
